Stephanie L. Hubelbank, a 1989 graduate of Hofstra University Law School, began her legal career at the New York County District Attorney’s Office where she gained extensive experience determining the scope, timing, and direction of investigations and developed expertise as a litigator prosecuting sexual and physical abuse cases.   

Ms. Hubelbank has considerable experience training attorneys and other professionals.  She has developed and implemented curricula for a variety of audiences, has taught continuing legal education courses for litigators, and has decades of experience with public speaking.  As a former bureau chief, Ms. Hubelbank is familiar with employment issues faced by both management and employees.       

In 2002, Ms. Hubelbank was hired by Nassau County where she served as Bureau Chief of the Family Court Bureau for the Nassau County Attorney’s Office until her retirement in 2016.  As Bureau Chief, Ms. Hubelbank developed an innovative management style focused on team building and, under her leadership, the Family Court Bureau developed its reputation for professional excellence.  Ms. Hubelbank is a demonstrated, collaborative leader who worked with stakeholders to develop a Juvenile Treatment Court and a Babies Can’t Wait Court.  In 2015, the Babies Can’t Wait Court received a “What’s Great in the State Award.”

At Thatcher Law Firm, Ms. Hubelbank assists the litigation team in its employment law practice.  Her teaching experiences, public speaking skills, and years as a seasoned litigator serve her well in her new role.
