Stephanie Hubelbank

Stephanie L. Hubelbank

An experienced investigator and litigator, Stephanie Hubelbank began her legal career at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office as an assistant district attorney. She developed expertise and specialized in prosecuting sexual and physical abuse cases, including child fatalities. Stephanie gained extensive experience determining the scope, timing, and direction of investigations and developed litigation skills as a trial attorney. In 2000, Stephanie was appointed Supervising Attorney and Adjunct Professor for the Prosecution of Domestic Violence Clinic at Pace University School of Law.

Stephanie left the DA's Office to serve as Bureau Chief in the Nassau County Attorney's Office Family Court Bureau. For the next fourteen years, she managed both union and non-union employees and developed familiarity with employment issues faced by both management and employees in the public sector.

The most rewarding aspect of Stephanie's career in the public sector was her work with crime victims-survivors and their families. She is described as a "creative and compassionate attorney with strong relationship skills." At Thatcher Law Firm, Stephanie is often the first person to speak with prospective clients. She assists and supports the litigation team in all aspects of its employment law practice. Stephanie conducts investigations involving allegations of workplace discrimination and harassment. Her background as a sex crimes prosecutor lends itself well to sex discrimination and sexual harassment cases. She is especially attuned to the extra-legal needs of clients and matches them with appropriate support services. Stephanie helps clients and their families navigate legal processes to prevent them from feeling retraumatized.

Stephanie loves to cook, hike, and attend live music performances with her husband.
