I have worked aggressively for individuals who have been injured on the job to help them and the families who depend on them, as well as for small independently owned small businesses whose financial survival depends on being treated fairly in the legal system. In my over twenty years of practicing law with a particular emphasis in the area of workers' compensation law, I have forged important working relationships with my opposing counsel as well as with the Workers’ Compensation Commissioners who hear these types of cases, all to the benefit of the clients who entrust me with protecting their legal rights and personal interests.
I have developed the strong communication and organizational skills necessary to effectively negotiate and more often than not, to successfully litigate, on behalf of my Clients. I have tried hundreds of cases before the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission and various courts of review including jury trials to Circuit Courts throughout Maryland. The majority of my practice has concentrated in the area of Workers’ Compensation defense, where I have represented Maryland Employers serving in the capacity of House Counsel and Panel Counsel to Wausau, Nationwide, Liberty Mutual, and CNA Insurance Companies. As counsel to these and other Insurance Companies and Self Insured Employers, in addition to providing legal advice and representation, I have initiated and developed workplace safety and injury reporting procedures to reduce injuries in the workplace as well as to reduce claims. My experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical material appropriate to the intended audience have enabled me to deliver meaningful seminars on all aspects of Maryland Workers’ Compensation law and procedures, as well as informal “Question and Answer” lunches to my client’s Claims Departments, Third Party Administrators, and Risk Management Committees.
I am available to answer any question, no matter how big or small, that you may have regarding your Workers’ Compensation legal rights, as well as to assess your Business’s current Workers’ Compensation needs and health.
